Onion Rings with Sierra Pale Ale

Kris: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is the original American Pale Ale. First brewed in 1980, it is consistently a great, session beer and one of our favorites. The perfect beer for a warm afternoon and some crispy, salty onion rings.

Caroline: Beer battered onion rings are delicious and so quick to make!

The recipe for the batter is the same one we used in our beer battered flathead, you can get the recipe here.

Simply slice up a large onion (thick slices)
Dip slices in an egg wash (beaten egg with milk),  then coat in plain flour and dip into the batter.

Slide into pan of vegetable oil at 170 C and fry until golden brown (~3-4 minutes)

Caroline: I made a dipping sauce just out of mayo, seeded mustard and a splash of tabasco. Perfect snack!!
